WinSSHTerm Review
WinSSHTerm is a program designed to act as an interface for PuTTY and KiTTY. It helps you manage your SSH sessions, and also supports file transfers and X applications.
This application is free for download and works on both 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems. It can be found in the Windows Store, which is located at your desktop widget or at the bottom of your Taskbar.
It is very easy to install and use, even for new users. It also offers a lightweight interface and some degree of customization.
The app is very easy to navigate and provides access to many useful features, including the ability to copy files from remote computers. It also has support for X applications and can open multiple sessions in one window.
It can keep track of commands in your command history, including current working directory, host name and return status code. This is a great feature to have, especially if you often ssh into other hosts.
iTerm2 can present a modal alert when a long-running command finishes, if you ask it to. This is a handy way to quickly know when the job is done.
You can easily see and search your command history using iTerm2’s toolbelt, or quickly access it in a popup window. iTerm2 will also output the filename of a downloaded file from a remote host.
It can save a history of up to 200 commands per user or hostname, and will automatically suggest completions when View>Auto Command Completion is selected. This will save you the trouble of typing them in manually, and it also lets you double-click a command to enter it for you.
